GBP suspension and reinstatement

A suspended profile disappears from Maps and Search, and the calls stop the same day. Reinstatement is a form, but the outcome depends on finding the real cause first and sending Google the right evidence once.

We diagnose the cause before filing anything, because filing first is why most requests are refused.

Why do Google Business Profiles get suspended?

Google suspends profiles that appear to break its guidelines: a business name padded with keywords or a city, an address that is a mailbox, virtual office or home for a business that shows an address, duplicate profiles for one location, a category or service Google considers ineligible, sudden large changes to core details, or a pattern that looks like spam across several profiles. Google rarely says which. Reinstatement means identifying the actual reason, fixing it, and proving with documents that the business is real and eligible.

Hard suspension or soft suspension?

A soft suspension removes your ability to manage the profile but leaves it visible; a hard suspension removes the profile from Google entirely. The recovery steps are similar, the urgency is not. We confirm which you have in the first hour.

Why reinstatement requests get refused

Most owners file the form immediately, with the violation still in place, and no documents. Google refuses, and every refused request makes the next one harder. The order matters: cause, fix, evidence, then the form.

  • The name still contains extra words Google flagged.
  • The address is still a type Google does not accept for that business model.
  • A duplicate profile still exists.
  • No proof was attached: no signage photo, no utility bill, no business registration, no vehicle or storefront photo.
  • The explanation argued with Google instead of showing compliance.

Our reinstatement process

Each step is done before the next, and we tell you what we found at each one.

StepWhat happens
1. DiagnosisProfile history, name, address type, categories, duplicates and recent edits checked against the guidelines to find the likely trigger.
2. FixThe violating detail corrected: name to legal name, address handling changed, duplicates merged or removed, ineligible services removed.
3. EvidenceBusiness registration, utility bill at the address, signage and storefront or vehicle photos, website matching the details. Gathered and named for the reviewer.
4. FilingOne reinstatement request with a short factual statement and the evidence attached.
5. Follow-upGoogle's replies handled, additional documents supplied if asked, escalation when a refusal is wrong.

Account historyother suspended profiles on the same account, which raises the bar for reinstatement.
What we find

Mistakes that turn a suspension into a refusal

  • Filing the request within minutes, with the violation still in place.
  • Arguing that the suspension was a mistake instead of showing that the profile now complies.
  • Sending a screenshot of the website as "proof" instead of a document Google asks for.
  • Creating a new profile while the old one is suspended.
  • Filing three times in a week. Every refusal makes the next review harder.
  • Changing the address or name during the review, which restarts it.
The plan

What it costs

Reinstatement is a one-time service at $399: diagnosis, fix, evidence, one correct filing and the follow-ups until Google decides. If the profile then needs the rebuild described in prevention, that is the Profile plan.

See all plans on the pricing page

What the $399 covers

  • Diagnosis of the actual cause, not a guess from the guidelines.
  • The fix itself: name, address type, duplicates, ineligible services.
  • The evidence Google asks for, gathered and named for the reviewer.
  • One correct filing, with follow-ups until a decision.
  • If a first request is refused for a reason we can address, the follow-up costs nothing.
Timeline

How long does reinstatement take?

Google states a review window of several business days; in practice it ranges from a few days to a few weeks, longer when Google asks for more documents. A clean first filing is the fastest path; a second filing after a refusal takes longer and needs new evidence.

Day 1–2diagnosis sent to youWhat caused the suspension, what evidence Google will accept, and the document list. The request is filed only after the profile is fixed.

What the days look like

  • Day 1: profile history, name, address type, duplicates and recent edits checked.
  • Day 1–2: the violating detail corrected, before anything is filed.
  • Day 2: evidence gathered — registration, utility bill, signage, vehicles.
  • Filing, then follow-up: Google replies in days or weeks, and we handle each round.

Preventing the next suspension

Once the profile is back, the causes get removed for good: name kept to the legal name, address type correct for the business model, one profile per location, edits made gradually, and the details kept consistent everywhere else on the web.

Common questions

What happens if Google refuses a request is answered on the FAQ page.

Should I create a new profile instead?

No. A new profile for a suspended business is itself a violation and usually gets caught, leaving you with two problems. Reinstate the original.

Do you need access to the profile?

Yes, manager access, so we can see the history and file from within it. We never ask for your Google password.

What documents will I need?

Typically a business registration or license, a utility bill or lease at the profile address, and photos of signage and the premises or vehicles. We tell you exactly which ones for your case.

Do you charge if it is not reinstated?

The fee structure is on the pricing page. What we control is a correct diagnosis, a real fix and a complete filing; what Google decides after that is Google's.

My profile shows "suspended" but I did nothing. Why?

Google runs automated checks and sometimes flags a whole category of businesses, or reacts to an edit a listing service made on your behalf. The cause is still findable from the profile history.

Can reviews be lost in a suspension?

Reviews usually return with a reinstated profile. They are lost if the profile is deleted or a new one is created, which is one more reason not to start over.

Can you handle a suspension on a profile you did not set up?

Yes. Most of the profiles we reinstate were set up by someone else years earlier; the history is in the profile and the documents come from you.
